Brian J. Hall

Teacher, Varsity Girls Tennis and Basketball Coach | Lewiston-Porter Central School District

Growing up with a strong foundation, Brian J. Hall, MEd—an accomplished teacher and coach—was greatly inspired by his father, whose guidance played a crucial role in shaping his ethical and decision-making abilities, work ethic, and persistence throughout his career. He was additionally affected by his coaches and teachers, who later helped him build meaningful rapport with his own students in and out of the classroom.

After graduating with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida in 2000, Mr. Hall worked at Williams Technology Services for eight years. During this time, he first gained coaching experience by leading his supervisor’s daughter’s basketball team through the local school district, which sparked his passion for it. From there, he coached girls’ basketball over the next two years and ultimately assisted with coaching at Niagara Catholic High School. He was motivated to pursue a career in education here after encountering a student-athlete who was falling behind in his coursework; the student was struggling with computer assignments because he did not have access to a machine at home. Mr. Hall helped him by arranging the use of the computer lab at school and spent time helping him with school assignments.

Mr. Hall ultimately earned a master’s degree in education at Niagara University, which he completed in 2009. From then up until 2018, he excelled as a business teacher, coach, and ultimately dean of students at Niagara Catholic High School—and helped to start the first girls’ tennis program there in 2012. Since 2018, he has found success at Lewiston-Porter Central School District, where he runs the Academy of Business and Finance, teaches business and technology, and serves as the head coach for girls’ varsity tennis and girls’ basketball. In addition, he has been active as a board member of the Niagara Community Center since 2014 and sat on the Board of Governors for the Niagara Falls Country Club from 2013 to 2019.

Reflecting on his career, Mr. Hall is proud of his numerous accomplishments: He was part of the coaching staff of four championship-winning teams in men’s basketball before transitioning to girls’ basketball, where he led the team to another championship victory. Beyond the court, though, he feels the greatest sense of achievement when it comes to his students’ success.

Looking toward the future, Mr. Hall wants to continue to teach at Lewiston while also devoting time to coaching girls’ basketball and tennis. He is passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of his students and players and is committed to helping them achieve their full potential.
